Chemical Research Process Development

TOSLab is engaged in development of different chemical processes:
- scaling of laboratory procedures to chemical plant production;
- development of methods for controlling the processes;
- elaboration of methods of express analyses of intermediate and final products

The processes were sized to pilot unit production at the Scientific Research Technological Institute of Herbicides (Ufa).

The process was developed to semi-industrial scale. An intermediate 1H-Imidazol-5-ylmethanol Copper Complex (1) was additionally made in up to 100 kg amount for testing as an electrochemical process reagent. In co-operation with Irbit Chemical Pharmaceutical Plant we synthesised 10 kg of 4-Nitro-1H-Imidazole-5-Carboxylic Acid (2), an important parent substance for numerous biologically active imidazoles.

The process including several preliminary stages and purification of intermediate and final products was realised in a scale from several hundreds of kilograms at the earlier stages to give several kilograms of very pure (>97%) 4-Cyano-2-Fluoro-Benzoic Acid at Irbit Chemical Pharmaceutical Plant.
